I miss the Hub and I miss the team and I miss you. What's going on? Tell me everything? How are things going?

The daily 'updates' Tosh don't really fill me in or sate my curiosity. One word statements or vague descriptions don't do it for me, Gwen.

We miss you, too, Jack. I miss you. It's not the same when you're not around. We are, however, managing just fine. Stop worrying! And there is a reason why Tosh's reports are vague - it's because I asked her to keep them that way. You are taking time off, which means no work related issues until you get back. Really Jack, we do know how to deal with stuff. We've done so before. Just trust us a little, all right?

BUT I know you'll waltz in here in the next 24 hours if I don't tell you what's going on, so here goes. Gethin and Sarah discovered a creature that looks like a large, scaly fox; almost like a cross between a dinosaur and a canine. Sarah took some good pictures of it and we've been trying to identify it, though I must say without much success.

Anyway, I've just finished briefing the team and we'll go out and catch it later today. I know it's a bad idea to underestimate situations, but the creature hasn't hurt anyone, people haven't reported the sighting of a strange looking fox with scales, and it looks harmless enough in those photographs, so I don't think this will be a complicated case. The team is large and all of us are skilled, so a fox, with or without scales, is no match for us.

So please, Jack, just relax and stop fretting.

I know you've done it on your own before. I don't think you're incompetent, and I'm not really worried ... I'm just missing work. A lot. Much as I do love being here at home, I miss the rough and tumble of the job. Just ... you need to let me off the leash a little, you and Ianto. I can't go cold turkey, I just can't. You've got to throw me a bit more of a bone.

It sounds familiar, but nothing comes to mind, so good luck with it. Do me a favor and just send me the photos just to look at, okay? And let me know how it goes.

I'm not fretting. I'm just interested. I'm not going to go AWOL and come storming in unless it's the end of the world. Promise.

Right. I do understand that. I would probably miss the adrenaline and the rush and, yes, the stress if I had to leave for a couple of weeks on end, and I've been here for how long now? A year and a half? Shows you that Torchwood turns everyone into a workaholic. ;)

Locked to Jack
Okay, I'll send you those photographs. Just don't tell Ianto, please... or anyone else for that matter.

What was 'teethless' about your dream, Gwen? Dreams are weird things, aren't they?

And yay! We share the same favourite colour. :)
Apr. 16th, 2008 12:55 pm (UTC)
That should have been toothless, of course. Remind me not to do these things during working hours. And the toothless thing, well, that was me. Scared the hell out of me when I woke up. Dreams really are bizarre things, aren't they?

Isn't red just a gorgeous colour? And it looks like we're not the only ones who love it; almost everyone on the team has it listed as a favourite. Coincidence? ;)

(Sings): You say 'teethless' and I say 'toothless'... ;)

Bizarre. Absolutely.

And yes, it is! I know some people don't think redheads should wear red, but they're full of it. It's a happy colour, a strong colour, a confident colour. I've seen you in red, Suits you. :)

As for how many people have chosen it? I didn't actually check, lol! Who didn't choose it?

Everyone can and should wear red. It just depends on the type of red, I guess. And thank you!

Good question. I'll check. ;)
