Welsh and proud

Gwen Cooper
11 May 1978

Hello, my name is Gwen Cooper. I used to work as a police officer in Cardiff, but I gave up my job to become a part of Torchwood Three. Yes, Wales' "special-ops" organisation. While working for Torchwood is not a nine-to-five job I don't regret my decision to join this team in the slightest.

I'm a bit of an all-rounder and I do both fieldwork and research at our base. I also bring a - how to put this nicely - more human level of involvement to our work. I'm pretty empathetic and feel with the victims of the crimes we try to solve, which often results in me trying to get answers from the citizens of Cardiff or break bad news to surviving dependants. I hated doing that at the police and I still hate it now, but it's an important part of my job.

So, as you can read, my job is rather busy and more often than not a little strange. I'm not at home a lot these days, which puts a bit of a strain on my relationship with Rhys, my boyfriend. I am trying to better myself, though, and spend as much time with him as I possibly can.

I don't really have the time for hobbies, but whenever I do have a chance to relax you can probably find me at the pub down the road for a pint or at my favourite restaurant, having dinner with Rhys. I also visit the occassional rugby game at the Millenium stadium, like to shop, watch the telly and I seriously love bowling.
